Ben Winston is a British producer and director, one of the founders of Fulwell 73 but most known for his extensive collaboration with James Corden as the co-executive producer of The Late Late Show, which of course includes the viral sensations that are Carpool Karaoke and Drop the Mic!

Ben made history in American television by becoming the youngest ever show producer in Late Night, but he grew up in right here in London, England, studied broadcasting at Leeds University and of course is the son of previous JLGB Virtual guest, Lord Professor Robert Winston.

In 2007, Ben’s first major movie was released, the documentary ‘Hands of the God’ and since then his career has skyrocketed. He has produced tv, movies and music videos for stars such as One Direction, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow and was also the Executive Producer of the X Factor, the Brit Awards and the Tony Awards.

Ben is an eight-time Emmy Award winner, and a 23-time nominee. In 2019, he was the most Emmy nominated individual, with four shows earning a total of 10 nominations. He has also won an MTV Video Music Award, three Brit Awards for directing, and four Critics’ Choice Awards. Last year Variety named him in their list of top 20 unscripted producers in the World. 

With such a busy schedule, we are truly honoured he has found the time for us tonight, live all the way from Los Angeles, California - and literally just hours before he is due to tape tonight’s Late Late Show with James Corden.
