Nurturing Growth and Leadership: JLGB Local Groups' Member Progression

Building Future Leaders: The Path of Progression in JLGB Local Groups

JLGB prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment where young members can grow, develop new skills, and gradually assume more and more leadership roles. Our structured progression framework offers a clear path from early involvement in local groups to taking on significant leadership responsibilities.

The picture below shows the new JLGB members progression framework as of 5th Dec 2023

1. Year 7: The Beginning of the Journey

Entering Senior School or transitioning from JLGB Juniors, Year 7 members embark on a new adventure. At this stage, members engage in activities focused on skill development, teamwork, and community awareness, laying the foundation for their journey ahead.

2. Year 8: Stepping Up Engagement

With a year of active involvement, Year 8 members are promoted, unlocking extra rewards, badges, and discounts. This level encourages more participation and giving back to the JLGB community.

3. Year 9: Expanding Opportunities

In Year 9, members are eligible for 'Overs' activities and can start their journey with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, a valuable program offered at a subsidised rate for JLGB members.

4. Year 10: The Leadership Transition

This pivotal year marks the transition from member to leader. Through accredited leadership training, Year 10 members start preparing for roles in guiding and mentoring younger participants.

5. Year 11: Acting Young Leaders

Reaching Year 11, members become Acting Young Leaders, gaining access to the Young Leaders Zone at camps and discounts on Israel Tour. They start taking active roles in delivering sessions and leading groups at camps.

6. Year 12: Young Leaders

On meeting set criteria, Year 12 members take on significant responsibilities as Young Leaders. They mentor younger members, facilitate activities, and can apply for various roles in camps.

7. Year 13: Senior Young Leaders

The Senior Young Leader position is a prestigious role for Year 13 members, involving peer-mentoring, potential managerial roles at camps, and opportunities to take on national JLGB positions.

This progression structure reflects JLGB's commitment to developing confident, skilled, and socially responsible individuals. By providing a clear roadmap from early engagement to advanced leadership, JLGB ensures that every member has the opportunity to grow and flourish within our community.
