Benjamin Cohen is a British web developer, entrepreneur and journalist, known for founding the first ever Jewish social network and going on to found PinkNews!
Born in 1982 to a Jewish family in London, Benjamin became a public name in 1998 when at the age of only 16 he founded JewishNet.co.uk – a social network before the birth of Facebook, LinkedIn and even MySpace! Graduating from Kings College in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, Ben sold his company and took on a series of digital enterprises, including founding PinkNews! the world’s most-read LGBT+ publisher.
Ben has had a diverse range of careers and roles, including serving as the technology correspondent for Channel 4 News, joining the board of the Nobel Peace Prize winning disability NGO Humanity & Inclusion, and is now a non-executive director and trustee. Ben has also chaired Out4Marriage, the successful cross-party campaign for same-sex marriage in England and Wales. All this, whilst growing PinkNews to receive over 50m unique visitors a month and managing a diagnosis of MS.
