Youth United to Fund JLGB Provisions Expansion

£5million government fund to support youth organisations

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport through the Youth United Network named JLGB as one of the youth organisations that will benefit from the funding which has been set aside for uniformed youth groups to expand its provision and offer more places to disadvantaged young people. This funding will also enable JLGB to create more opportunities for adults to volunteer at local weekly groups.

JLGB is one of nine Youth United member organisations that are benefitting from this multi-million fund to enable more children to access local groups and benefit from weekly activities, camps and volunteering programmes to boost their wellbeing, mental health and life skills. 

JLGB has been awarded £292,500 to resource a dedicated recruitment team and upgrade its programming curriculum and skills activities to make weekly groups ever more relevant to the needs of today’s young people.

Jeremy Wright, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport said:

“Youth groups teach important life skills, build friendships and help expand young people’s horizons. Every child should have the chance to join one of these groups, no matter what background they are from or what area of the country. This funding is creating thousands of new places so that even more children can enjoy these valuable experiences.”

“This is a very exciting time for JLGB, and this major boost from government now gives us the resources we need to now take our award winning youth provision to the next level. We look forward to expanding JLGB groups and programmes across the entire Jewish community and creating opportunities for adult volunteers to support our community’s young people at local weekly groups”

The Fund will be distributed and managed by Youth United Foundation.
