About JLGB
JLGB is a modern, thriving, innovative and award-winning national Jewish youth charity that has empowered young people for over 130 years. Through local groups, volunteering, awards, and leadership programmes, we help thousands of young Jews each year to gain life skills, build confidence, and connect with their identity in a safe, inclusive environment.
With growing demand across the country, we’re expanding our outreach and development team to ensure Jewish young people – wherever they live – have access to our inspiring programmes.
The Role
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Engagement & Development Coordinator to help expand JLGB’s reach, support the launch of new local activities, and increase participation in our national programmes.
You’ll work with schools, synagogues, parents and volunteers to bring JLGB to life in new and existing areas – whether it’s opening a new youth group, supporting a community taster session, or helping young people get involved in our camps, awards and leadership pathways.
This is a frontline role that combines outreach, communications, delivery and development. If you’re a people-person, a great organiser, and excited by building something from the ground up – this could be the perfect job for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with schools, synagogues, and community stakeholders to identify new areas for JLGB growth
- Support the launch and delivery of new JLGB activities – including local groups, lunchtime clubs, or short-term workshops
- Recruit young people and parents into JLGB’s national programmes (e.g. camps, volunteering, awards) through outreach and presentations
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment and onboarding in new areas with support from our Volunteer Manager
- Attend local, regional and national events as needed to support engagement
- Maintain accurate data, help write reports, and assist with funding outcomes
- Represent JLGB at community events and help amplify our visibility locally and online
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience in youth work, community outreach, education or programme coordination
- Is confident speaking to groups and presenting in public (e.g. school assemblies, parent evenings)
- Is a great communicator, both in person and over email/phone
- Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where no two days are the same
- Is a team player, but also confident managing their own schedule and tasks
- Has a full UK driving licence and is happy to travel for outreach and events
- Understands and supports the needs of Jewish young people and families
- Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and youth empowerment
What You’ll Get
- 28 days annual leave + public holidays and Jewish festivals (increasing with service)
- Hybrid and flexible working options
- Employer pension contribution after probation
- Travel expenses for outreach
- Access to CPD, training, and progression opportunities within a growing organisation
- A warm, passionate team with a shared mission to transform young lives
