SHINSHINIM CROPPED

Meet JLGB’s New Shinshinim!

In a JLGB first, we are delighted this year to have not two but three Shinshinim!

As part of the Jewish Agency programme, Tal, May and Inbal were chosen from hundreds of applicants and are of the highest calibre, Tal and Inbal were heavily involved in the Tzofim (Israeli Scouting) for many years. They have started with us in September and they have already added a new and exciting dimension to the programming toolkits and sessions that are being created for use by all JLGB groups. Tal and Inbal have four years’ experience as leaders in the Scouts, specialising in helping those with special needs and logistics, with May having four years experience as a youth leader elsewhere.

May enjoys cooking and baking, hanging out with her friends and listening to music, as well as reading romance and fiction novels. Talking about her feelings about the year ahead, May said that she is “looking forward to the weekly groups and the ones that I have visited so far have been amazing, I feel as though it’s going to be a really great year”.

In his spare time Tal is a keen sportsman, enjoying football, handball and hockey specifically, as well as this he enjoys going to the theatre and has been in many plays himself. Looking ahead he is “looking forward to the rest of the year, I’ve heard so many good things about JLGB and I can’t wait to meet everyone and I’m especially excited about being on camps”.

We’re also very lucky this year to have a third Israeli who is based in Manchester. Inbal loves to dance and has been dancing classical ballet since she was 6 years old, as well as this she enjoys being with her friends, hiking and is a big fan of food. When asked how she was feeling about the year ahead Inbal said she was feeling “excited for the amazing year that lays in front of me, I want to be a real part of the community here and influence the people I meet as one of their peers”.

May, Tal and Inbal are looking forward to visiting all the JLGB groups as they travel the length and breadth of the UK to visit Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham and all across London, meeting our members, leaders, parents and friends over the next few months.

Please join us in wishing them a very warm JLGB welcome and keep up with them by following their Facebook page here!
