Dedicated Leaders Needed For Summer Programmes

JLGB are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic temporary staff to support our summer activities. We are looking for motivated individuals who are keen to make a difference as leaders and role models to young people. 

NCS Team Leaders:

 We are looking for Team Leaders to work with groups of 16 and 17 year-olds during our award winning summer programme, working both residentially and in the local community in London and Essex.

The Team Leader is responsible for leading, inspiring and developing a team of over three weeks of our NCS programme. This role is suitable for a dynamic and confident person with experience of leading groups of young people, who is able to motivate them and earn their respect.

The programme lasts three weeks and includes outdoor activities, skill development and devising and delivering social action projects. NCS brings together young people from across a community and challenges them to connect with people from different backgrounds, learn key skills for the workplace, and make a difference in their community. Team Leaders will take part in the full three weeks from 6th – 24th August 2018.

DofE Session Workers:

JLGB is seeking to find session workers to support our DofE team with the running of our expeditions this season. You will be leading groups of young people between 14 and 18 years old over two or three day periods with overnight camping in between.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award. DofE makes a difference to young people’s lives and prepares them for life and work. Over 275,000 young people per year from every possible background take part in the DofE programme to broaden their horizons, develop their leadership skills, learn to work with others, volunteer in their local communities and increase their employability.

As a DofE Session Worker, you will be required to lead and remotely supervise the participants on their expeditions. This will include provide supportive, encouraging and inspirational leadership, delivering a high quality programme for the participants and supporting the participants through their expedition by teaching camping and navigation skills.

Full clean UK driving license is required.
