Taking part in Yoni Jesner, DofE or vinspired Awards?
Head to eVOLve to find New Impactful Volunteering Opportunities

With over 250 new volunteering opportunities from 150 charities now on evolve, it is now easier than ever to start volunteering and get recognition for it. If you have signed up to do the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Yoni Jesner Award or vinspired Award and haven’t found a volunteering opportunity yet, then evolve is here to help.

With 2,000 young people signed up to JLGB’s award schemes this year, evolve exists to match young people with meaningful, faith-sensitive and age-appropriate volunteering opportunities and make award completion easier than ever.

Through the digital platform young people can find youth friendly volunteering opportunities in their local area that match their individual skills and interests. As well, log and track their volunteering hours to gain their certificate of recognition and complete the Yoni Jesner Award, the vinspired Award and find placements for the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Whether you are passionate about supporting animals or disabled children, or if you are looking for a placement linked to a potential future career as a doctor or a historian, evolve has an opportunity waiting for you.

One student, Lea, has been volunteering with Haven House Children’s Hospice through evolve and has achieved the vinspired Award. She shared her experiences with us:

Could you describe some of the skills that this placement has allowed you to develop?

“Definitely my confidence, I’ve had to do public speaking since I started volunteering with them and it’s definitely made me a more confident speaker. I’m better at teamwork and event organising and it’s also pushed me creatively”.

How has your involvement with Haven House impacted your plans for the future? Do you now want to work in care or with children, or events, fundraising?

“100% I didn’t know what I wanted to do before, but now I’d love to either come get a job with Haven House or to go in some other king of charity work, especially in the events and promotion side of things. I enjoyed knowing the awareness I spread and the money I raised would help people”.

If you could pick a few words to summarise how eVOLve has helped you, what words would you use?

“Overwhelming sense of achievement”.
