JLGB excited to welcome new Shinshinim

It is our pleasure to introduce to you Roy Naor and Noa Yovel, our new young emissaries all the way from Israel. Just like Rome, Shera, Shaked, Itay, Ben, Adi, Shir and Asmara, our ‘Shinshinim’ will be working with us on the Core Activities Team as part of their year of service before national service begins.

As part of the Jewish Agency programme, Roy and Noa were chosen from hundreds of applicants and are of the highest calibre having been heavily involved in the Tzofim (Israeli Scouting) for many years. They have started with us this week and we are sure they will both add a new and exciting dimension to the programming toolkits and sessions that are being created for use by all JLGB groups. Both of them have two years’ experience as leaders in the Scouts, specialising in helping those with special needs and logistics.

Noa enjoys singing and the theatre and has just come back from three months travelling across America in a singing and dancing Caravan troupe. Talking about her feelings about the year ahead, Noa said that she is “looking forward to meeting new people, making new friends and bringing Israel as I see it, including the culture, mentality and spirit, to JLGB”.

In his spare time Roy is a keen hiker, tennis and basketball player and he has also recently returned from a summer spent in America, as a counsellor in a Jewish camp. Looking ahead he is “excited to join JLGB, be a big part of the organisation, have an impact in all the groups and meet the JLGB members and volunteers”.

Both Roy and Noa are looking forward to visiting all the JLGB groups as they travel the length and breadth of the UK to visit Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham and all across London, meeting our members, leaders, parents and friends over the next few months. Please join us in wishing them a very warm JLGB welcome.
