Parents Hail JLGB Junior Summer Camp as “Amazing Experience”
Expressing yourself took on new meaning this August as fifty 7-11 year olds embarked on a journey of fun, friends and adventure on JLGB’s ‘Emoji’ themed Junior Summer Camp! The three day Camp Emoji united youngsters from across the country, forging friendships that will last a lifetime and encouraging them to express themselves while having fun and trying new experiences!
In just three days, campers completed a round robin of adventure challenges including, rock climbing, kit car racing, archery, a ropes course and more. Alongside these adrenaline pumping activities, participants were taught to channel and express their creative flair biscuit and plate decorating, with many Juniors opting to decorate their plate in keeping with the emoji theme. Participants were invited to embrace their inner clown during the circus skills activity where some unlikely talents were discovered. Evenings were filled with a new range of activities to wind down and relax with new friends including a movie night with hot chocolate. The final day of camp brought campers a real treat, the highly anticipated pool party with music and pool accessories which soon became an impromptu dance-athon as Juniors chose to express themselves with some freestyle dance.
Considered a highlight by many, the final day of camp invited parents and JLGB president, The Lord Levy, to visit the campsite for a barbeque and funfair. Not only did this give parents the opportunity to feel the unique atmosphere of camp and meet their children’s new friends and other parents but it also provided the Juniors with a perfect way to bid farewell to their exhilarating three day adventure.

“Thank you to everyone who helped to make my child’s first summer camp such an amazing experience. She had the best time and can't wait for next year. Thank you all.”
“I am absolutely delighted that our beautiful daughter had the time of her life at her first JLGB camp - she has already made great friends just as I did all those years ago! Thank you for looking after her.”
Young Leader, Aaron Conway, who volunteered running activities with the Juniors said:
“The Juniors were such an enthusiastic bunch, they always had a smile on their face and that level of happiness really rubs off on you as a leader. I had so much fun learning new skills and games alongside them such as archery or building a small campfire, and I can't wait to do it again next year. Hearing the kids telling their parents about all the amazing things they did and all the friends they made, it really makes you feel like all the time and effort was worth it and you made a difference to these kids' summer.”
