Exams Done! Next Up is the Summer of a Lifetime on NCS!

NCS Powered By JLGB - 7th to 25th August 2017.

HEAD TO WWW.JLGB.ORG/NCS - apply before it’s too late!

Now that the exams are over, get set for an unmissable summer with JLGB National Citizen Service (NCS). The programme brings together thousands of 15–17 year olds from across the UK to develop career related skills, have a say in their community and challenge them to push themselves out of their comfort zone – the good news for you is that it isn’t too late to apply just yet!

Last year, over 70 young people from across the UK took part in the life changing opportunity that is NCS. They embarked on an adventure week, learnt from the very best as they met leading industry professionals and to finish off in style they coordinated youth led social action projects that targeted specific needs and issues in their communities.

You will start with a week of adrenaline fuelled activities that will have you hanging meters high up in the air, zip lining by the sea, or rolling down a hill in a kit kart made by your team! Then get together, be inspired and make real changes happen. (Find out more about some of last year’s projects; #ThroughTheLens, or watch a video made by our participants; #InvisibleDogTags)

Included in the £35 programme cost (normally £50, special offers reduce cost – financial assistance is available if required.), NCS will give you hands on experience with industry experts that will run workshops to sharpen those chosen skills, such as photography and film making! It will open doors to exceptional opportunities to get a real insight into behind the scenes of incredible charities, businesses and other organisations such as Twitter UK and the charity Crisis.

NCS also gives you the opportunity to ask the professionals those burning questions. You will gain valuable and transferrable knowledge and understanding. NCS will expose you to different career opportunities and direct you in your career choice. Our participants show that taking part in NCS boosts resilience, independence and confidence. Many have said they feel more confident applying for jobs and described their experience as “inspiring”.

Former Prime Minister and recently announced head Patron of NCS, David Cameron said NCS is about: “empowering our young people to be united in their diversity, with the skills to get on in life and the compassion to support each other.”

NCS has been a life-changing experience for me; I have created friendships that I hope will last a lifetime" – Talia, NCS 2016 graduate.

As young people we feel very passionate about the way people are treated and that everyone should be treated equally. Due to our strong beliefs we decided as a team to create a short film to change people's views on different stereotypes”. - ‘Directors Crew’, the 2016 group whose participants focused on refining skills relevant to film development.

"NCS has been an experience I can look back on for years to come. It has helped me learn skills I didn't know I could do" – Jade, NCS 2016 graduate.

JLGB’s award winning NCS programme is wholly unique as it is fully kosher and Shabbat friendly and faith sensitive. Sign up now for the opportunity of a lifetime at WWW.JLGB.ORG/NCS - make sure you get your place booked before spaces run out!
