JLGB Runners Raise Thousands at Fun Run

A record breaking 40 runners in brand new JLGB tops specially created for the event, were seen sprinting the length of Allianz Park at the Maccabi GB community Fun Run this Sunday. Together, the ‘JLGB squad’ raised far more than just their heart rates. We are thrilled to announce that our phenomenal runners raised over £5,000!

The annual family event invites participants to run 1k 5k, 10k or even all three while fundraising for a charity of choice. JLGB were incredibly proud to have quadrupled the number of runners compared to last year. By raising funds, the runners have ensured the continuation of positive activities for Jewish youth, since JLGB works nationwide to remove barriers that prevent Jewish young people from participating in every opportunity. The runners certainly made JLGB proud and their contribution has ensured all JLGB activities remain affordable for every young person, regardless of financial circumstance.

As a youth organisation JLGB were incredibly proud to have 12 runners under the age of 10, including some as young as three years old running in a JLGB top. “We have really really enjoyed it and it’s been an amazing experience” said best friends, Chloe Shelley and Rafi Jackson aged 9, who were the first JLGB runners to cross the 1k finish line.

We are already looking forward to next year’s Fun Run with Senior Volunteer Manager and 5k runner, Adam Shelley, remarking “I can’t believe we have to wait another year to do it all over again! I couldn't be prouder of the most amazing JLGB team one could wish for. The unrivalled team spirit and support was simply sensational with the team raising thousands of pounds.”

JLGB would like to thank all the runners, volunteers and sponsors for their continued dedication to JLGB and ensuring a truly fantastic day.
