A Week of Sun, Sand & Sensational Summer Spirit… JLGB’s emoji Summer Camp!
Over 500 11 – 16 year olds from across the world will be descending upon our very own island in England for a week of sun, sand and sensational summer spirit this August. We currently have more applications for Summer Camp from more countries than ever before. The international scale of camp creates a vibrant atmosphere which gives you the unique opportunity to discover other cultures, explore your own identity and make new, life-long friends from all over the world!
Throughout camp you will be battling it out against other teams in a whole assortment of different challenges to become the best group! You’ll earn points competing during activity sessions that include rock climbing, zip wire, high ropes, kit car racing and so much more. This healthy competition will help you develop skills tailored to your interests such as coding, first aid, cookery, debate, music, arts and crafts. At the end of camp one team will be crowned champions at the closing awards ceremony.
The daytime activities are a time to flex those competitive muscles or develop new skills, but when night falls it is time to sit back and enjoy the exciting evening productions. Whether it be a world famous ventriloquist, improvisation stand-up comedians or even a battle of the brains contest, you're in for a treat each and every evening. The dedicated productions team works tirelessly for months in advance of camp to ensure that the very best entertainment is served directly to you each and every night of camp. There will be audience participation, talent shows, interactive contests and astounding performances lined up for your enjoyment, so when the evening rolls in, the fun doesn't stop! What makes all the daytime activities and evening productions so special is that they are planned, organised and run by a team of hand-selected young JLGB Leaders who have all been attending JLGB Summer Camps for years. It is an honour to be asked to be a part of a camp organising team and is therefore a role that those selected take very seriously to ensure they give you the greatest experience imaginable. Each year the teams up the ante and raise the bar of what we thought possible, which is a credit to their hard work and commitment!
We have more applications at this stage than ever before which puts us on course for record numbers of young people joining us. This means spaces are filling up rapidly for what will be a week to remember. Junior Summer Camp has now launched! All 8 -11 year olds are invited to join an action-packed adventure week. Junior Camp will be taking place during JLGB Senior Camp from the 30 July – 2 August at the same campsite. The theme will also be ‘Emoji’ and many of the activities will be the same as the seniors are taking part in but specially tailored to the younger age group. Highlights from last year included team sports, stage make up, Israeli dancing, cookery and arts and crafts. Expect the Talent Show to be a night not to miss!
