Phenomenal Summer NCS Programme Back For 2017
National Citizen Service (NCS), the remarkable programme that brings together thousands of 15–17 year olds from across the UK to develop chosen skills, take charge and be part of an once-in-a-lifetime experience is back this summer!
Over 70 young people said #yes2ncs in 2016 and took part in a life changing opportunity through an adventure week, meeting industry professionals and coordinating a youth led social action project.
Following our success of last year, JLGB is delighted to once again be running our award winning NCS programme this summer in the unique kosher and Shabbat friendly way that JLGB is famous for. We are even more excited to ensure that more young people join the increasing community of 200,000 NCS graduates.

This August* the reins are handed over to you. Putting together a completely youth led social action project with the chance to receive and spend up to £1,000 in any way you like (well….nearly in any way), we are giving you the power to choose a cause that matters to you and the opportunity to make a real difference.
Start with a week of adrenaline fuelled activities that will have you hanging meters high up in the air, zip lining by the sea, or rolling down a hill in a kit kart made by your team! Then get together, be inspired and make real changes happen. (Find out more about some of last year’s projects;
)Included in the £35** programme cost, NCS will also give you hands on experience with industry experts that will run workshops to sharpen those chosen skills, such as photography and film making! It will open doors to exceptional opportunities to get a real insight into behind the scenes of incredible charities, businesses and other organisations such as Twitter UK and Borough Market.
This is the opportunity to ask the professionals those burning questions. You will gain valuable and transferrable knowledge and understanding. NCS will expose you to different career opportunities and direct you in your career choice.
Our participants show that taking part in NCS boosts resilience, independence and confidence. Many have said they feel more confident applying for jobs and described their experience as “inspiring”.
Using our expertise of running over 60 years of Kosher Duke of Edinburgh, JLGB has been selected as a specialist faith-sensitive provider for this fantastic programme as we are able to cater for our participants’ religious needs.
