JLGB Ensures Every Child Really Does Matter

In proud partnership with Kisharon, JLGB's London DofE coordinator, Jes Waldman, led an expedition adapted for 4 young people with physical and learning difficulties. This continues the JLGB's commitment that the DofE should be for all young people, regardless of ability, and compliments our growing provision for young people with special needs such as working with Langdon College in Manchester, and our expeditions planned for Norwood to start in 2013.

This unique expedition took into consideration the varied abilities of the participants and was tailored accordingly, using photographic direction cards, instead of traditional maps. Lyna Panas from Kisharon said: 'The boys have learnt many life skills from this experience. [JLGB] went above and beyond the call of duty to make this work.' The group are hoping to go on to achieve their Silver Award in the next academic year.
