Why did you choose to become a trustee for JLGB?
I chose to become a Trustee for JLGB because the organisation has helped me in my personal and professional development, teaching me valuable skills needed for everyday life and providing a welcoming environment. Becoming a Trustee for JLGB is my way of ensuring that young people can experience what I have and to give back to an organisation that has given me so many opportunities.
Can you tell us a bit about your role outside of JLGB and what you bring to JLGB’s Board of Trustees?
I am a Catastrophe Modeler at a reinsurance broker, where I analyse a client's risk and their potential losses to catastrophes (e.g., earthquakes and hurricanes), helping them understand their portfolio and risk concentrations. With my role in exposure and risk management, I bring an analytical approach to the Board. Being an active volunteer weekly allows me to see how decisions made at Board level can have a positive impact to the day-to-day running of the organisation.
What has been your favourite JLGB moment or proudest achievement as a Trustee?
One of my favourite JLGB moments was taking part in Israel Tour, where I formed lifelong friendships while fully immersing myself in Israel’s culture, history, and everyday life. It was my very first experience of JLGB, and from the moment I arrived I felt genuinely welcomed, supported, and included by everyone around me. That powerful sense of belonging stayed with me long after the tour ended and inspired me to continue getting involved, take on national roles, and ultimately give back to the movement as a Trustee.
