JLGB Trustee Chairman

Why did you choose to become a trustee for JLGB?

I chose to become a Trustee because JLGB has long been part of my family life, with my wife, family, and friends all involved. Having previously served as a JLGB Officer, I saw first-hand the organisation’s outstanding work. Becoming a Trustee felt like an honour and a meaningful way to contribute to an organisation I deeply respect.

Can you tell us a bit about your role outside of JLGB and what you bring to JLGB’s Board of Trustees?

I am actively involved in my local community and international diplomatic work, and I previously served as CEO and President of a large telecommunications organisation. I bring strategic leadership, governance, and financial oversight to the Board, helping ensure JLGB is well-structured, sustainable, and able to support young people, staff, and volunteers safely.

What has been your favourite JLGB moment or proudest achievement as a Trustee?

I am proud to have helped attract our President, Lord Levy, and that His Majesty The King is our Patron. I am also proud of the awards, government support, and recognition JLGB has received, including our CEO, Neil, being awarded a CBE.

If you have a specific role as a trustee, what does your role involve?

As Chairman of the Board, I have overall responsibility for ensuring JLGB delivers high-quality, safe, and enjoyable opportunities for young people. My role focuses on supporting trustees, staff, and volunteers, setting a strong long-term strategy, ensuring good governance and safeguarding, and securing the resources needed to sustain JLGB’s vital work into the future.
