Why did you choose to become a trustee for JLGB?
I chose to become a Trustee for JLGB because of my long-standing connection to the organisation and my belief in its mission. Having volunteered with JLGB for several years, I have seen firsthand the positive impact it has on young people, volunteers, and the wider community. Becoming a Trustee felt like a natural next step, allowing me to give back in a meaningful way and help ensure the organisation continues to thrive and support future generations.
Can you tell us a bit about your role outside of JLGB and what you bring to JLGB’s Board of Trustees?
As a Trustee and Treasurer, I oversee the organisation’s finances and take pride in ensuring JLGB remains financially responsible and sustainable. I bring a careful, considered approach to decision making, with a strong focus on long-term planning and accountability. My experience as a dedicated volunteer also means I understand the organisation from the ground up, which helps me connect Board discussions to real experiences on the ground. I value the leadership of my fellow trustees and their strong ties to the community, and I enjoy working collaboratively to support JLGB’s continued growth and success.
What has been your favourite JLGB moment or proudest achievement as a Trustee?
One of my favourite aspects of being involved with JLGB is visiting summer camps. Spending time at camp allows me to connect directly with staff and volunteers and to see the impact of JLGB’s work in action. Watching young people grow in confidence, build friendships, and feel part of something meaningful is incredibly rewarding. These moments reinforce why the work we do at Trustee level matters and make me proud to be part of an organisation so deeply committed to its community.
