Generation Resilience:  A Landmark Moment of  Giving, Unity and Support

JLGB has announced the successful completion of its 36-hour Generation Resilience matched fundraising campaign, raising an exceptional £236,445 — far surpassing its original £130,000 target.

The campaign, launched to mark JLGB’s 130th anniversary, mobilised widespread communal support to stand with young Jewish people at a time of heightened pressure, uncertainty and visibility.

JLGB had warned that today’s young people are navigating a world “louder, harsher and less predictable” than previous generations, facing rising antisemitism, online hostility and intensifying social pressures. The campaign highlighted the remarkable strength and resilience Jewish young people continue to show in the face of these challenges.

Chief Executive Neil Martin said:
“Despite everything, they continue to choose hope. They choose community. They choose to lead and volunteer when it would be far easier to shrink back. That’s why this campaign mattered. This generation is not something to fear — they are something to believe in.”

Since its founding in 1895, JLGB has supported young people through world wars, mass migration, social upheaval and the pandemic, providing what Martin describes as “the quiet constant: the safety net, the launch pad, and the place where ordinary children become extraordinary adults.”

The funds raised will enable JLGB to expand and strengthen its work in:

  • Providing safe, inspiring Jewish youth spaces
  • Delivering leadership, volunteering and accredited skills programmes
  • Offering kosher- and Shabbat-friendly provision
  • Ensuring financial barriers do not prevent participation
  • Building practical resilience skills for today’s complex world

Martin added:
“Generation Resilience was more than a fundraiser — it was a promise. A promise that hope will not only survive but grow stronger. A promise that we will stand with young people now, so they can stand tall for all of us in the future.”

JLGB extends its gratitude to all supporters, volunteers and partners who helped the campaign achieve such an extraordinary outcome. If you would still like to donate, you can! Just head to www.jlgb.org/donate.

For over 125 years, young Jewish people have been discovering just how brilliant they can be and how they can make the world a better place through JLGB. Whether you're 8 or 18, whatever you want to be, join in and be your best self with us!
