Team Volunteers Needed for Summer 2018!

Help us to run a summer that young people will remember for the rest of their lives…

This summer we are running a National Citizen Service programme for 16 and 17 year olds which will aid their personal and social development, through empowering and encouraging them to develop practical skills and supporting their move into adulthood.

We are looking for highly energetic and motivated individuals who are able to support groups of young people confidently, to achieve their potential and who can facilitate teamwork amongst young people of different faith and cultural backgrounds.

This is a voluntary position with reasonable expenses paid and food and accommodation provided during residential weeks. Applicants should be available to work for at least one week during 6th-24th August 2018. Flexibility with time is beneficial.

NCS 2018 Team Leader

Full time (15 days), London and Essex

6th – 24th August 2018 (plus additional 4 days of training & 1 day graduation)

We are looking for Team Leaders to lead teams of sixteen and seventeen year-olds during our intensive summer programme, working both residentially and in the local community in London and Essex.

The Team Leader is responsible for leading, inspiring and developing a team of fifteen sixteen and seventeen year olds over three weeks of our NCS programme. The Team Leader reports to the Programme Leader. This role is suitable for a dynamic and confident person with experience of leading groups of young people, who is able to motivate them and earn their respect.

NCS will allow young people to design their own positive social action project and they will be fully supported by charities and experienced youth workers to make a powerful impact in their communities.

And we need HELP!

We are looking for:

  • Industry experts that can run practical skills workshops for our young people
  • Businesses and charities that can offer an inspiring visit with the aim of empowering our young people with the ideas and knowledge they need to create their own social action project. This visit could include tour showcasing how you operate with an opportunity to meet staff across different departments so that our young people can hear first hand tips and advice for embarking in your particular field.

Each of our teams will visit organisations that have a strong connection to their chosen skill pathway:
