Job Title:  Paid JLGB Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Internship

Job Type: 1 year, full time (part time options would be considered), from beginning of September 2018 to beginning of September 2019
Location: South Woodford. This opportunity will include field work across the UK.
Remuneration: From £1,000 per month
Reporting to: JLGB’s DofE Manager

The JLGB are delighted to offer a paid year-long internship for a reliable and enthusiastic person with excellent youth work skills and a passion for the great outdoors who wants to gain valuable experience. The JLGB is an award-winning charity and this position is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career with some hands on experience delivering training sessions in schools and supporting young people to complete their DofE expeditions.

JLGB is seeking to employ workers to support both the DofE team with the delivery of the world’s leading achievement award for young people, this will include:

The chosen candidates will be hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable. Full training will be given and no DofE experience is necessary.

Gain valuable experience and transferrable skills both in an office, in schools and outdoors:

The chosen candidates will need to be sensitive to the needs of faith communities when working with JLGB’s young stakeholders and their families, and be respectful of their observance, dietary and practise needs.

Please note this role will require additional evening and Sunday work along with overnight camping throughout the expedition season.
