Job Title: Communications Internship
Job Type: Full time (part time options would be considered), until the end of August 2019
Location: JLGB HQ in London
Remuneration: From £1,000 per month
Reporting to: Director of Communications
JLGB are delighted to offer a paid one-year internship for a reliable, enthusiastic and hard working person with excellent written skills and a keen interest in digital technology and social media, and interested in what communications really entails, as well as someone who wants to gain valuable communications experience. This position is the perfect opportunity to improve your CV with some hands on knowledge and understanding of the different communications channels and how they can be used to support the growth of a dynamic organisation.
The role also offers the opportunity to specialise into areas of JLGB communications that you find most interesting, be it systems, specific services that we operate or our partner organisations.
You will work closely with the Director of Communications and members of the Operational Team, on a range of tasks including:
Writing articles and promotional material for web, print and social media
- Assisting with production of marketing materials and literature
- Researching journalists/publications
- Assisting with creation of communications schedules to support the delivery of the communications strategy
- Managing email communications to key stakeholders and audiences
- Creating audio and video content, including editing photos and videos using software like Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
- Answering general telephone and email enquiries
- Using analytics to inform marketing strategies
Skills/Personal Qualities required:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, good telephone manner
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with Office applications and online resources
- Good organisational skills, creative thinking and strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge and experience of working across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Fast Learner, able to adapt quickly to new software, systems and processes
