Salary:  £27,000 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience 
Contract and hours: This is a permanent contract. A working week is an average 35.5 hours. Full or part time options available with flexible working hours considered. Immediate start possible.  
Location: Hybrid working at the JLGB Office in London (E18) and at home. Will require travel around Greater London and project locations nationally.

The Role 

Adult volunteers are central to the success of JLGB. This exciting new role will oversee the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers across JLGB’s wide range of youth activities and programmes including weekly groups, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, summer and winter camps.  

We’re looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Volunteer Manager to join our team. This is a new role and the successful candidate has the potential to shape and lead on the design and development of the organisation's strategy.  We welcome applications from candidates looking for their next step up the ladder to develop their skills in collaboration with a growing organisation.  

The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and commitment to our organisational values. As someone who is passionate about volunteering and the impact volunteers have on communities you will be excited to work in a vibrant team and embed quality volunteering practices across all our programmes. You will lead on the design and implementation of our volunteer strategy, enhancing our volunteer experience and increasing our volunteer contribution. You will collaborate with the team across the charity to identify the needs of the organisation and any potential new volunteering opportunities. You will be a persuasive and dynamic ambassador for our charity with exceptional organisational skills that will ensure the successful implementation of JLGB’s youth programmes through a motived volunteer workforce.

Successful candidate will be required to be flexible in their approach. The work will include some evenings, Sunday and weekend work as well as school holiday residential programmes

We offer 28 days leave plus bank and public holidays (this includes directed leave for Jewish high holy days), rising by 1 day for each completed year of service to a maximum total of 34 days leave. 

Employer and employee contribution to pension following successful probation period, in line with auto-enrolment pension requirement, 3% employer contribution 

Hybrid working, offering a flexible combination of office and home-based working. 

We have a flexible policy for working hours and offer TOIL where staff are required to start early, finish late or work on a Sunday, so that you can reclaim these hours at another time.

Additional information 

Our staff team are currently based at our London Head Office (E18), although you may be asked to occasionally work at various locations to manage projects and volunteers as part of your duties.  

Our offices are based in East London and we thrive on working closely together. Ideally you would be willing to meet team members at our offices for co-working more frequently, but we will be flexible for the right candidate.
