We can't reiterate the importance of that sentence enough – every child really does matter.
The JLGB works in almost every Jewish community in the UK and we are fully aware of the issues that face today's young people. We help families to provide a safe space for their children to explore and enjoy the often difficult transition into adulthood in a fun, exciting, interesting and welcoming environment a world away from outside pressures and worries.
Over 30% of the young people and volunteer leaders receive a variety of financial subsidies or individual support because we vow that no young person or volunteer leader who willingly gives up their time to help is prevented from participating in any JLGB programme due to personal, financial or familial circumstances.
Every year the bursaries we award to children, young people and families in need has grown significantly with no sign of abating but again, we vow to make sure that no-one goes without.
In addition to helping young Jewish people from wherever they are in the UK and offering various types of financial support, we also work closely with Special Education Needs schools such as Langdon College in Manchester. We are continuing to grow our provision for Jewish children with physical and learning difficulties by offering specially adapted programmes that are accessible, inclusive and empowering.
