Aiming High for Jewish Youth

Practical life skills such as character building, self-confidence, teamwork and a sense of ownership and responsibility are areas that can add a tremendous amount of value to the lives of Jewish young people. At the JLGB, we help everyone to develop and learn these transferable skills that they will be able to use forever.

Our leadership and training programmes have been accredited by the National Open College Network (NOCN) cover a wide range of transferable skills which are so important to have when it's time to go to university or even out into the job market.

Skills include –

  • Personal development and social awareness
  • Peer leadership, teamwork and effective communication
  • Activity organisation, event planning and risk assessment
  • Situation management, safeguarding and child protection
  • Money management and informed decision making
  • Jewish identity, heritage and peoplehood (the awareness of the underlying unity that makes an individual Jew a component part of the Jewish people)
  • Citizenship, social action and intergenerational programming
  • Motivational techniques and presentation skills

This list is by no means comprehensive and we are constantly adding and refining our lists of skills. The world around us is fluid and constantly evolving so therefore the JLGB must do the same.

We are in a highly competitive world across all aspects of a young person's life and these skills are an invaluable asset to have in making sure each young person has the competitive edge they need in order to give themselves the greatest possible chance in whatever they decide to do in the future.
