Regardless of background or circumstances, everyone at JLGB passionately believes that in addition to having a rich and fulfilling school education, young Jewish people are empowered to make a valued and significant contribution to society, develop their own unique and individual skills and talents and really fulfil their potential.
At the JLGB, we integrate Jewish values with British traditions. We encourage volunteering and participation in inter-faith and intergenerational projects up and down the country and we work with over 50 charities. Through our collaborative strategy for Jewish youth volunteering we impact and enhance the lives of Jewish young people by giving them the confidence and skills to become and remain active members of the Jewish and wider community.
Every year we facilitate hundreds of volunteering placements through fairs, charity matching and by administering a number of age progressive and nationally recognised volunteering achievement awards.
Denigrating young people makes better headlines and sells more papers than praising and recognising achievement and contribution. The JLGB gives young people the opportunity to showcase what they are capable of and allows them to stand out as examples of what is possible and we take enormous pride in the achievements of the hundreds of young people involved in thousands of hours of volunteering and social action programmes.
