DofE Volunteers & Helpers

This year, we enrolled and directly trained over 800 young Jewish people to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and every year the number is growing. The more people who do their DofE through JLGB, the more volunteers we need.

Volunteers play an enormous part in everything we do and we are also immensely proud that last year, an extra 150 adult volunteers gave up their time to help the JLGBs DofE participants complete the Expedition section of the Award and this year, we need even more!

Are you able to give up a day or even just a few hours to help us out? All the information you need will be provided before you start and we are especially looking for:

Walkers We need people who are happy to walk with a group on the first day of their Expedition. An adult presence give them confidence and they can ask questions as well as getting tips, hints and advice.

Drivers It’s important that we meet groups at regular and pre-determined checkpoints to keep an eye on their progress and to refill water bottles.

Rucksack Packers This is one of the most important jobs. A badly-packed rucksack is not only a huge hindrance, it can also be dangerous if items get lost, forgotten or broken.

We need help on most Sundays and Mondays from April through to July as well as some dates in March.

If you are able to give a little time, please call 020 8989 8990 or email dofe@jlgb.org today. We really do appreciate any help or time you can give.
